Riley’s Farm Reflection
At Riley’s Farm we did several activities that colonists did back then. When they played games they did a type of game that was like baseball but you have to hit the ball with a paddle. And have to hit a lever to prop up the ball. We also learned about proper etiquette.
Every time we would participate we would get a shilling. A shilling is something that would be used for trade. We would also do other activities concerning colonists back then. One of them was learning about taxes.
We learned about weaving. How we had to weave was very complicated. We had to get the weaving stick through the loom in a cross way. We learned about trial back then what was a just trial and what an unjust trial was. The trial only had one person not the jury not any lawyers to help say the decision.
We also got taught about battle techniques. Faces were used to have us turn one way. We wrote to our family or a love note saying that we would die in battle. When we were doing the reenactment the British lost the war. We all got to use sticks as guns.
